Final Drive Fluid: Service and Repair
01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)

Gear oil in front final drive, checking, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Drip tray V.A.G. 1306

Hex ball socket 3247

Axle oil level is checked with transmission installed.

Perform a short test drive so that axle oil warms up.

Drive the vehicle onto a 4-column lift or over a work pit so that it is level.

Switch off engine and allow 5 minutes for the gear oil to settle back into transmission case.

Vehicles with TDI engine

Remove noise insulation for right drive axle from wheel housing - arrows

Continued for all vehicles

Place drip tray V.A.G. 1306 underneath.
