Rear Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

Window Regulator

For access to the window regulator, first remove the interior trim panel and the plastic moisture barrier from the door. Refer to Door Panel  See: Front

On cars so-equipped, disconnect the harness connectors for the power windows. Installation of the regulator is the reverse of removal. Remount the
window glass as described in the next procedure below.

To remove regulator

1. Lower the window.
2. Raise the glass to the top and use tape or some equivalent means to secure it and keep it from falling.

3. Remove the bolts that mount the regulator to the door frame, then remove the regulator.

To mount window glass

1. Mount the glass carrier to the window regulator. Install the bolts snugly, but not fully tight.
2. Run the window all the way to the top to align it.

3. Lower the window slowly until the glass carrier mounting bolts are visible through the hole in the door frame, then tighten the bolts.
