ABS pump, Part No. 191 698 305A, is no longer available. Part Number has been superseded to Part No. 191 698 305B.

Service

WARNING

The ABS modulator assembly is capable of "self pressurizing" up to 210 bar (3045 psi). Serious injury may result if you service the unit without
properly depressurizing it. Depress brake pedal 25 to 30 times with ignition switch in OFF position, to depressurize system.

When replacing the ABS pump with new version pump, Part No. 191 698 305B, the following additional steps must be performed:

Refer to Group 45 of the Repair Manual Microfiche for all mechanical removal and installation instructions.

^ remove old ABS pump, Part No. 191 698 3O5A

^ disconnect wire harness connector from pressure warning switch in hydraulic modulator (master cylinder)

^ remove pressure warning switch (1), Part No. 191 927 821, located in hydraulic modulator (master cylinder) (2) and discard

^ install plug, Part No. 191 614 304, in hydraulic modulator (master cylinder) (2) in place of switch

^

torque = 25 N-m (18.75 ft.lb)

^ install ABS pump, Part No. 191 698 3O5B
