Brake Bleeding: Service and Repair
With Anti-Lock Brakes

To bleed brake system, use bottle with a transparent hose attached so that brake fluid can be checked for air bubbles.

FRONT

1. Ensure that engine is Off, then depress brake pedal approximately 20 times to reduce pressure in reservoir.
2. Connect brake filling and bleeding tool US 1116 or equivalent per manufacturers instructions, then switch On.
3. Connect hose from bleeder bottle to left front caliper and open bleeder screw.
4. Depress brake pedal slowly until brake fluid flows without air bubbles.
5. Close bleeder screw and release pedal.
6. Repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 to bleed right front caliper.
7. Remove pressure bleeder.

REAR

1. Ensure that engine is Off, then depress brake pedal approximately 20 times to reduce pressure in reservoir.
2. Connect brake filling and bleeding tool US 1116 or equivalent per manufacturers instructions, then switch On.
3. Connect hose from bleeder bottle to right rear caliper and open bleeder screw.
4. Turn ignition switch to On position, then press lever of pressure regulator in direction of rear axle until brake fluid flows without air bubbles. ABS

system pump must not be in operation for longer than 120 seconds at a time during this procedure. If running time exceeds 120 seconds, a
cool down period of 10 minute s is required.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to bleed left rear caliper.
6. Turn ignition switch On until pump shuts Off, then fill brake fluid reservoir up to MAX mark.
