Warranty - Component Repair vs. Replacement Policy

 WARRANTY

June 29, 1990 90-08-V
SUBJECT:

Warranty Component Repair vs. Replacement Policy Clarification

The published warranty policy concerning the Repair or Replacement of certain components is as follows:

If the parts and/or labor required for a repair exceeds the cost of the unit, a complete new or remanufactured unit should be installed. It is the dealer's
responsibility to determine the most economical method of repair.

There are certain components that must only be replaced rather than repaired during the New Vehicle, Spare Parts, and Emission warranties.

Replace only:

Brake Master Cylinder Brake Wheel Cylinder Brake Caliper Brake Disc Diesel Injector Automatic Shoulder Belt System

After warranty expiration, repairs may be performed to the above components at the vehicle owner's discretion.
