Evaporator Case: Service and Repair

Air Distribution/Evaporator Housing 

WARNING:  Automotive refrigerant containing CFC's is hazardous to the earths atmosphere. To protect our environment use an
Underwriters Laboratory (UL) approved refrigerant recovery/recycling unit such as Kent-Moore ACR3, or equivalent, whenever discharging
an A/C system.

Note:

Remove air distribution and evaporator housing to replace components identified with an *.

Remove instrument panel before removing evaporator or heater core.  See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Instrument Panel/Dash
Board/Service and Repair

1* - Air distribution housing

flaps cannot be replaced separately

2* - Heater core

replace coolant if heater core is replaced

3* - Evaporator

insert thermostat sensing tube guide before installing

4* - Intake air duct

coat sealing surface with silicone rubber sealant (locally available)

5* - Seal

coat sealing surface with silicone rubber sealant (locally available)

6* - Evaporator housing (upper)

coat sealing surface with silicone rubber sealant (locally available)

- Fresh air blower series resistance, N23 

includes overheat fuse

8* - Intake air ring
