Air Filter Element: Service and Repair

To replace the Air Cleaner:

Air Cleaner Housing

1.

Unfasten the wire spring-clips around the outside edge of the air cleaner housing.

2.

Separate the upper and lower parts of the air cleaner housing by lifting the upper housing.

3.

Take note of the of the filter element's position and remove the filter element.

4.

Wipe clean the inside of the air cleaner housing using a lint-free cloth.

5.

Install the filter element with the gasket side facing up.

6.

Make sure that the two halves of the air cleaner housing are mated together correctly.

7.

Refasten the wire spring-clips to air cleaner housing.

NOTE: For easier access, you may want to disconnect the intake air boot from the top of the air flow sensor. Avoid disconnecting any of the fuel line

connections to the fuel distributor.
