connect multimeter between terminals 1 and 15 of ignition coil using jumper leads from VW 1594 adaptor kit

-

switch ON ignition

-

touch center wire from disconnected Hall sender connector briefly to ground using jumper lead from VW 1594 adaptor kit
-

the voltage value must increase to 2 volts minimum and then return to 0 Volts

If voltage does not drop

-

trial replace power output stage of ignition coil

-

and/or trial replace CIS-E Motronic control unit (J 204)

-

inspect ignition coil to see if sealing compound is leaking out, replace if necessary
