Driveshaft, removing and installing 

Assembly overview 

Sequence for disassembling and assembling; Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Sequence

The driveshaft cannot be repaired.

^

The driveshaft must be tied up or supported if it is only disconnected at the transmission or final drive.

^

Only remove and install the driveshaft with assembly device 3139.

^

Keep the driveshaft straight and only store and transport it fully extended.

^

Check the adjustment before replacing the driveshaft for complaints concerning noise and/or vibrations.

1. Rear final drive
2. Driveshaft
3. Seal

Replace

^

Pull off protective foil

^

Glue seal in flange shaft

4. Lock plate
5. Allen head bolt, 55 Nm Self-locking Always replace

^

Always clean threaded holes for bolts in flange shaft (e g with a thread tap)

6. Differential
7. Nut, 25 Nm 

Note:  Check tightening torque of stud each time nut (item - 8 t is loosened.

8. Stud, 10 Nm
