Pull out seal.

Installing 

Installation is performed in the reverse sequence. Note the following:

Replace O-ring behind flange.

-

Apply gear oil to circumference of seal.

-

Half fill space between sealing lip and dust lip with grease G 052 128 A1.

Drive new seal in onto stop in rear axle housing taking care not to tilt seal.

Drive driveshaft flange onto pinion shaft until securing nut can be installed.

-

Clean threads on pinion shaft and flange nut free of grease and coat thinly with D 000 600.

-

Insert previous hex nut and tighten to position marked.

Note:  The number of turns when screwing on must be the same as for unscrewing.
