Malfunction Indicator Lamp: Description and Operation
Electronic Power Control Warning Lamp, Significance

"EPC" is an abbreviation and stands for Electronic Power Control (E-gas).

Engine Control Module (ECM) checks all components that are important for function of the E-Gas system after ignition is switched on.

During the test of these components, the ECM switches the EPC warning lamp on for approximately 1 second. If a malfunction is recognized during the
test, the lamp will remain constantly lit.

If malfunctions are recognized in the E-Gas system during operation of the engine, the ECM switches on the EPC warning lamp in instrument cluster.
(These malfunctions are listed in the DTC table). An entry is made in DTC memory at the same time.

Test requirements

Fuses no. 7 and 29 must be OK.

Battery voltage must be at least 11.5 volts.
