Combination Switch: Service and Repair

Steering Column Switch/ Combination Switch/ Turn Signal Switch

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Torque Wrench -V.A.G 1332- (40-200Nm). 

NOTE:

-

The following components are intergrated in the steering column switch. Turn Signal Switch -E2-, Headlamp Dimmer/ Flasher Switch -E4-,
Parking Lamp Switch -E19-, Windshield Wiper Intermittent Regulator -E38-, Windshield Wiper/ Washer Switch -E22-, Multi-Function Indicator
Mode Select Switch -E86- and Multi-Function Indicator Memory Switch -E109-.

If vehicle is equipped with Cruise Control System (CCS), Cruise Control Switch -E45- and Cruise Control -SET- Button -E227- are integrated in
steering column switch. 

Removing:

NOTE:

Before disconnecting battery, retrieve code from radios with anti-theft coding.

When disconnecting and connecting battery, the procedure as described in the repair manual must be followed.

Disconnect battery. See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair

Remove steering wheel. See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair

Remove the two bolts -arrows-. 

-

Remove upper steering column switch trim -1-.
