Section F - Visual Inspection/Vent Line Check

(2001-2005 4Motion vehicles)

With vehicle still on hoist, remove both bolts -arrow- from heat shield just above rear differential pinion flange

TIP:  If parking brake cable is obstructing bolts on either side, move cable over to remove bolts

-

Remove bolts -black arrows- for exhaust hangers on both left and right exhaust pipe, then remove both bolts -white arrow- for left and right fuel
tank straps

NOTE:  

This will allow for more clearance between fuel tank and access hole under rear seat bottom

Visually check fuel tank ventilation valve and surrounding area for fuel leak

If fuel leak is found go to Section G

-

If no fuel leak is found, continue with procedure

NOTE:  

Picture shows tank removed for clarity
DO NOT REMOVE TANK UNLESS FUEL LEAK IS FOUND

Remove zip tie -arrow- securing vent line to electrical wiring to allow vent line to move freely
