Fluid - M/T: Testing and Inspection

Transmission oil, checking 
Special tools and workshop equipment required

3357 Torx socket

-

VAG 1331 Torque wrench

Transmission oil level is checked with transmission installed.
Transmission oil specification

-

To check transmission oil remove plug.
The oil level is correct when the transmission is full to the lower edge of the filler hole.

-

Fit plug.

When filling with new oil note following:
-

Remove plug.

-

Top up oil to lower edge of filler hole.

-

Fit plug.

Tightening torque
Oil filler plug: 25 Nm 
The bolt has a surface, which is matched to the transmission depending upon whether it is manufactured from aluminum or magnesium.
