When installing the bearing cap note offset, before installing camshaft fit bearing caps and determine installed position.

1. Oil camshaft contacting surfaces
2. Tighten bearing caps 2 and 4 alternately and diagonally to: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). 
3. Install and tighten bearing caps 5, 1 and 3 to: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). 
4. Locate bearing cap 5 by tapping lightly on the end of the camshaft.
5. Install camshaft sprocket.
6. Install and tension toothed timing belt.

NOTE:

If new lifters have been installed, do not start the engine for about 30 minutes.

Built up hydraulic pressure must subside or the valves will strike the piston crowns.
