DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 

Special tools, workshop equipment, testers, measuring instruments and auxiliary items required

VW 558 Counter-hold tool

^

Hex bolt M8x45 and two M10 nuts

^

Depth gauge

Drive plate, loosening and tightening

Attach VW 558 counter-hold tool to drive plate with hex bolt M8 x 45. Place two M10 nuts between counter-hold and drive plate.
Position of counter hold tool:
A - To loosen
B - To tighten

Drive plate, installing 

-

Position drive plate and backing plate relative to recesses -1-.

-

Install new bolts and tighten

30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) 

-

Measure clearance between drive plate and engine block through the 3 holes in drive plate, calculate average.

Specification: 21.3 to 22.9 mm
