VAG 1594 A Auxiliary test set

Work sequence

-

Adjust accelerator cable by moving retainer (arrow) at support bracket, so that Wide Open Throttle (WOT) position is attained at throttle valve
module.

-

Release accelerator pedal.

-

Disconnect 2-pin connector from kick-down switch -F8- in engine compartment (on bulkhead).

-

Connect multimeter VAG 1526 or Fluke 83 with auxiliary cables from VAG 1594 to kick-down switch.

-

Check resistance at switch.
-

Specification: Infinity Ohms

-

Slowly move accelerator pedal in direction of Wide Open Throttle (WOT).

-

Shortly after the kick-down pressure point resistance must drop to 0 Ohms. At this point the accelerator pedal must be just off the stop.
