Mounting Bracket - Removing and Installing

Mounting bracket, removing and installing 

Removing 
-

Remove wheel.

-

Remove clip -1- with a pair of pliers.

Note:  This clip need not be inserted again.

Remove nut -2-, remove both and pull both control arms out in an upward direction.

CAUTION:  The slits in the swing arm/wheel bearing housing must not be widened using a chisel or similar tool.

The steering gear boot must be protected to avoid damage.

For clarity the illustration shows a steering gear that has been removed from the vehicle.

The protective sleeve -1- can be ordered, Part No. 893 512 137

-

Cut 20 - 25 mm (3/4 - 1 inch) strip, dimension A, out of the protective sleeve -1-.

Carefully deburr the cut surfaces.

-

Slide protective sleeve over steering gear boot with open side facing down.

Pull ABS wheel speed sensor wiring out of retainer on brake caliper.
