Determine shim thickness according to table and part number from parts catalog.

Perform clutch play measurement check after installing ATF pump.

Measurement check (clutch play)

Clutch play cannot be measured until ATF pump has been installed.

Attach dial indicator holder to transmission housing and place dial indicator on turbine shaft with a preload of 1 mm (0.03937 inch).

Move turbine shaft up and down and read play measurement on dial indicator.
Play:
min. = 0.5 mm (0.019 inch) 
max. = 1.2 mm (0.047 inch)
