Test requirements:

Battery voltage OK.
-
Fuses 15 and 31 OK.

Ground connections OK:
NOTES:
-
The specified values are valid for ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 40 °C (32° to 104 °F).
-
If the measured values differ from the specified values, determine the malfunction using the appropriate wiring diagram.
-
If the measured values differ only slightly from the specified values, clean the sockets and connectors of the test unit and test leaks and repeat test.
-
Before replacing components, check the respective wiring and connectors. Repeat resistance tests when the values are below 10 Ohms.

NOTE: The TCM is located in front of the right-hand seat under the carpet in the footwell.

Switch ignition OFF and remove multi-pin connector from TCM in direction of arrow.

Connect multi-pin connector to test box VAG 1598/20 -1- by swinging in -2- and then locking -3-.
-
Using test box VAG 1598/20 the wiring can be checked according to the wiring diagram.
