‹› Use New shear bolts when installing the Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623).

-

Install the locking bracket - 1 - to the Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623) with NEW Shear bolts - 2 -.

-

Tighten the NEW shear bolts - 2 - evenly until the bolt head shears off.

-

Install the plenum chamber cover.

-

Install the wiper arms.

-

Reprogram the Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623).

Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623) removing and installing with Antitheft locking plate.

Remove the wiper arms.

-

Remove the plenum chamber cover.

CAUTION!
The shear bolts are coated with a locking compound and require heating. Do not heat the Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623) or
damage to the Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623) may occur.

To avoid damage (burning) of wire connections and harness connectors, insulation and control modules, the following work steps must be
adhered to exactly! Observe operating instructions for heat gun.

CAUTION!
After heating, parts are extremely hot. To prevent personal injury, avoid touching the protective housing after heating the shear bolts
and surrounding area.
