Update for Harsh 5-4 Downshift After Extended Highway / Long Distance Driving
Customer may experience harsh up shift in gears 1-2 and 2-3, or harsh down shift in gears 3-2 and 2-1. The symptom is most noticeable at transmission
temperatures below 60°C (140°F).
Customer may experience harsh 5-4 downshift on off-ramp after extended highway / long distance driving.
Technical Background
For harsh 1-2-3 up / downshifts when cold:
Internal transmission pressure difference on solenoid valve -N283- during shifting.
Updated Transmission Control Module (TCM) software and updated transmission valve body addresses:
Harsh Up/Down Shift 1-2-3, 3-2-1.
For harsh 5-4 downshift after extended highway driving:
Internal transmission pressure decrease in C1 clutch due to accumulated air in the C1 oil circuit. Software issue only. DO NOT REPLACE VALVE

Updated Transmission Control Module (TCM) software addresses:
