Inertia Fuel Shutoff Switch: Description and Operation

Crash Fuel Shut-Off 

Function 
Airbag-equipped vehicles have a crash fuel shut-off. This is intended to reduce the risk of vehicle fire following a crash by switching off the Fuel Pump
(FP) via the Fuel Pump (FP) Control Module.

When driver-side door is opened, the Fuel Pump (FP) is activated for 2 seconds so that pressure builds in the fuel system. This ensures a more
comfortable start behavior at engine.
