Rear Brake Caliper Piston, Removing and Installing

Rear brake caliper piston, removing and installing 

Special tools required 

Removing 

-

Remove piston from brake caliper housing by turning knurled wheel counter-clockwise.

Notes:  
-

Insert special tool 3272/1 between brake caliper housing and special tool 3272. 

-

If piston is hard to move, use 13 mm open end wrench (arrow A). 

-

Position special tool 3272 so collar (arrow) is before piston.

-

Place protectiv4 seal with outer lip on piston.

-

Remove seal with plastic wedge 3409 or equivalent.

Note:  Ensure cylinder surface is not damaged when removing.

Installing 
-

Clean piston surface and seal with clean solvent only.

-

Thinly coat piston and seal with lubricant G 052 150 A2 before installing.
