Draining

Torque converter, draining 

If the torque converter has become contaminated by abrasion or when performing a major overhaul of the transmission, drain the torque converter as
follows:

Extract ATF from torque converter using VAG 1358 A and probe VAG 1358 A/1.

Installing

Torque convertor, installing

Fasten torque converter to transmission, at the same time turn converter until both drive pins engage in ATF pump inner wheel.

Gap -A- is now at least 20 mm (0.78 inch).
