Tighten to: 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).

For radiator fan (item 14).

Switching temperatures:

Stage 1:

On: 92-97°C
Off: 84-91°C

Stage 2:

On: 99-105°C
Off: 91-98°C 

Lower Coolant Hose (16)

To thermostat housing.

Always replace.

Retaining Clip (19)

Ensure it is seated securely.

Upper Coolant Hose (20)

From thermostat housing.

REMOVAL

1. Drain coolant.
2. Pull coolant hoses off radiator.
3. Disconnect thermal switch and radiator coolant fan connectors.
4. Remove radiator mounting bolts.
5. Remove lock carrier with attachments.
6. On models with A/C, proceed as follows:

NOTE:
-

The A/C refrigerant circuit must not be opened.

To prevent damage to the condenser, refrigerant lines and hoses, ensure that the lines and hoses are not stretched kinked or bent.

a. Disconnect EVAP canister purge regulator valve 1 with retaining ring from air cleaner lower section. 
b. Remove air cleaner housing complete with Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, refer to Powertrain Management.
c. Remove A/C receiver/dryer and allow to hang free.
d. Remove retaining clamp(s) from refrigerant lines.
e. Remove condenser from radiator and pull as far forward as possible.

7. On all models, lift out radiator and fan.
8. On models with A/C, secure condenser to body such that refrigerant lines and hoses are not stressed.

INSTALLATION

Installation is the reverse of removal, check headlight alignment and adjust if necessary:
