Safety Circuit Breaker: Description and Operation

General Information

CAUTION:

For increased safety, vehicles with 6-cylinder engines and battery in luggage compartment are equipped with a battery isolator system. In
the event of a collision, the Airbag Control Module sends a signal to the battery isolator which activates a small pyrotechnic event. This
event results in isolation of the battery from the main wiring to the starter. In order to prevent inadvertent battery isolation when
working on the battery, battery isolator or power supply panel, always disconnect battery first.

Where applicable, a battery isolator is used in conjunction with the battery installed in the luggage compartment. The battery isolator is integrated with
the power supply panel which is mounted above the battery in the left rear luggage compartment.
