Oxygen Sensor: Removal and Replacement

Heated Oxygen Sensor and Heated Oxygen Sensor 2

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set (3337)

‹› To remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108) remove the air filter housing and connecting hose.

Removing

-

To remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor (G39): remove the intake manifold. Refer to one of the following:

One piece intake manifold, refer to => [ Intake Manifold ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and
Repair/One Piece Intake Manifold.

Two piece intake manifold, refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and
Repair/Two Piece Intake Manifold.

To remove the HO2S 2: remove the air filter housing and connecting hose.

-

Disconnect the electrical connectors - 1 - and -  3 - for the HO2S and HO2S 2.

-

Free up the electrical wires to the oxygen sensors.

Remove the HO2S 2 - 1 - and HO2S - 2 -.
