Belt Latch

‹› Removing => [ Front Seat Belt Latches ] See: Front Seat Belt Latches

Removal

CAUTION!
‹› Read the Safety Instructions for working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units. Refer to => [ Restraint System Safety

Precautions ] See: Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Restraint System Safety Precautions. 

‹› Pay attention especially to the instructions for belt tensioners.

Disconnect vehicle battery.

-

Remove upper B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Upper B-Pillar Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and
Repair/Pillar Trim

Remove lower B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower B-Pillar Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and
Repair/Pillar Trim

Remove the bolt - 1 - (40 Nm) and remove belt anchor -  2 - from body.

‹› The bolt is micro-encapsulated and must be replaced every time it is loosened.

‹› Before installing the new screw, threads on nut must be cleaned, re-cut if necessary.

Remove screw - 3 - (40 Nm) and remove automatic belt retractors - 4 - from B-pillar.

CAUTION!
Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity
from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done, for example, by briefly touching the body or the door
striker or pin.

Disconnect wiring harness from belt inertia reels.

-

Remove the connector from the wiring harness - 5 - out of mount in body.

-

Remove the bolts - 6 - (4.5 Nm) and remove belt guide -  7 -.

-

Remove bolt - 8 - (40 Nm) and remove belt relay -  9 - from belt height adjuster.
