Installing

when reusing an oxygen sensor, only use hot bolt paste (G 052 112 A3) to lubricate the threads; do not let the paste get onto the slits of the oxygen
sensor body.

Install the HO2S - 1 - into the bank 1 exhaust pipe. Identifying feature: black connector.

Install the HO2S 2 - 2 - into the bank 1 exhaust pipe. Identifying feature: brown connector.

Tightening specifications: 50 Nm

Install the original wiring again.

Further installation is performed in reverse order.

‹› Do not repair the oxygen sensor wires. Repairing may result in malfunctions. 

‹› Use the faulty sensor as a guide for installing all of the accompanying attachments, cable ties or marking bands.

‹› If necessary, identify the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) using the protective tube. Refer to => [ Oxygen Sensor Unit Protective Pipes ] See: Power

and Ground Distribution/Wiring Harness/Description and Operation/Oxygen Sensor Unit Protective Pipes.

Remove the faulty oxygen sensor.

Lay both of the oxygen sensor next to each other so the sensor housings are the same level.
