Oil Filter: Service and Repair
4-cyl Gasoline and diesel as well as 6-cyl Gasoline.
Perform the following procedure

Cover subframe hole -1- using a cloth. This measure prevents used oil from dripping into the carrier.

Loosen oil filter -arrow- with oil filter wrench or oil filter strap wrench and remove oil filter.

Thoroughly wipe oil filter flange using a cloth. This prevent used oil from dripping on to the subframe.

Clean engine sealing surface.

Lightly coat oil filter seal with oil. The oil filter can adhere better when tightening, which allows for best possible sealing.

Screw on new filter and hand tighten.
8-cyl gasoline engines.
