Catalytic Converter: Locations

Exhaust Manifold, Front Exhaust Pipes With Three Way Catalytic Converters (TWC) And Front Mufflers, Assembly Overview

NOTE:

Components marked with * are tested via On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Diagnostic mode 3: Check DTC memory.

Front exhaust pipes with Three Way Catalytic Converters (TWC) and front mufflers, removing and installing.

Brown, 6-pin

-

Connector terminals are gold-plated

-

For Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 -G108-

-

Component location of harness connector => Fig. 1

Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 -G108-*, 50 Nm
-

In exhaust gas stream of cylinders 4, 5 and 6

-

Only grease threads with G 052 112 A3 locking compound, do NOT allow locking compound to get into slots on sensor body

remove and install using ring spanner 7-piece set (3337) for oxygen sensor

-

Check oxygen sensor heater for oxygen sensors before Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)

-

Check Oxygen Sensors (O2S) and oxygen sensor control before Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)

Mounting nuts

Replace

-

M8: 25 Nm

-

M10: 40 Nm
