Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair

Fluid Reservoir Dryer Cartridge

‹› Under certain conditions, the dryer cartridge should no longer be replaced each time the refrigerant circuit is opened.

‹› The fluid reservoir with dryer cartridge is mounted on the right or left side on the condenser depending on the engine type.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› A/C service station (VAS 6007A)

Not illustrated

‹› Circlip pliers (commercially available)

Removing Passat from MY 2006

-

Bring the lock carrier into service position. See: Body and Frame/Lock Carrier

Remove mounting bolts for cooler - arrows -.

-

Carefully push the radiator toward the engine until the cover bolt -  arrow - is accessible.

Removing Passat CC from MY 2009

-

Remove the front bumper cover.

-

Remove the upper air guide on the lock carrier.
