Disconnect vacuum hose at connection of vacuum actuator.

-

Connect hand vacuum pump V.A.G 1390 to connection of vacuum actuator -arrow-.

-

Operate hand vacuum pump several times.

Diaphragm rod must move in -direction of arrow-.

NOTE:  Use a mirror for testing.

Disconnect vacuum hose of hand vacuum pump from connection of vacuum actuator.

Operating plunger must spring back into its initial position.

If operating plunger does not move as described:

-

Replace vacuum actuator for intake manifold flaps.

-

Erase DTC memory of Engine Control Module (ECM), Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data.  

-

Generate readiness code.
