Passat Sedan 4Motion V6-3.6L (BLV) (2007)
-
The temperature increases in increments of 1.0 degree C.
-
If the engine shows problems in certain temperature ranges and if the temperature does not climb uniformly, the temperature signal is
intermittent and the sensor should be replaced.
-
End diagnosis and switch ignition off.
If specified value is not obtained:
-
Disconnect 2-pin connector -1- from Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor -G62-.
Checking resistance
-
check resistance of Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor -G62- between terminals using adapter cables.
Range A displays resistance values for the temperature range of -10 to 45 degrees C, range B displays resistance values for the temperature range of 50
to 105 degrees C.
Read-out examples:
-
30 degrees C is in range A and corresponds to a resistance of 1.5 to 2.0 kohms
-
80 degrees C is in range B and corresponds to a resistance of 300 to 350 ohms
NOTE: Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor -G62- has a negative temperature coefficient (NTC). This means: the higher the temperature
the lower the resistance value.
If specified value is not obtained:
-
Replace Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor -G62-.
