Drill (commercially available)

Drive flange seal, removing

-

Remove sound insulation.

-

Place Drip Tray For VAS 6100 VAS 6208 underneath.

-

Mark position of - nuts - used to secure lower control arm to suspension strut.

Re-establish position when reassembling.

Remove lower control arm from suspension strut.

-

Press off drive axle from transmission.

Left

-

Remove drive axle.

Right

-

Place drive axle upward as far as possible and secure in this position.

Protective coating of shaft must not be damaged, use cable ties made of plastic are very suitable.

Seal opening of drive axle at transmission using clean rag - A -.

Note:

Grease drill - B - so that drill shavings stick.

Drill only through metal ring - C -, otherwise transmission may be damaged.

Carefully drill hole - B - (2 to 4 mm in diameter) in outer metal ring of oil seal.
