Final Drive/Haldex Clutch, Avoiding Damage During Maintenance Checks

Do not mistake Rear Differential oil drain plug for Haldex oil drain plug.

Technical Background

Haldex clutch and Rear Differential are a single integrated assembly with separate lubricating (oil) systems. It is possible for the oil drain plugs and oil
check plugs of the two systems to be mixed up. This may lead to avoidable maintenance mistakes, which can cause failure of the Haldex clutch and/or
Rear Differential.

Production Solution

No production change required.

Service

NOTE:

^ Always install the correct plug(s) when checking, draining or filling the rear differential and/or Haldex clutch.
