Condition
Sunshade, Back Glass, Damaged or Will Not Operate Properly
Manually operated back glass sunshade does not slide smoothly, or sunshade will not latch in up position.
Note:
DO NOT replace manual sunshade assembly for this condition.
Sunshade assembly does not have to be removed from vehicle for this repair.
Technical Background
One or both sunshade friction pads may be broken causing sunshade to track outside retaining rails. Sunshade handle may also be broken due to
increased effort.

This bulletin ONLY applies to manual sunshade
Production Solution
No production change required.
Service
Replace one or both friction pads and handle (as required) following the procedure below:

Fold rear seat backs down and install protective cover.

Remove both "C" pillars and both sunshade guiding rails, see Repair Manual Group 68 Interior Equipment, Sunshade Removing and Installing in
ElsaWeb.

Pull sunshade toward the front of the vehicle and restrict the re-wind ability by placing a shop towel between the sunshade webbing and recoil.

Inspect and/or replace both sunshade friction pads, handle and handle screw cover as required.
