Axle Beam: Service and Repair
Bonded Rubber Mounting, Replacing

Axle beam bonded rubber mounting, replacing 

Special tools required 

The bonded rubber mountings can only be removed and installed with the axle beam lowered.
Removing and installing axle beam.  
Except for the stabilizer bar no other parts need to be removed from the axle beam.
Marking installed position of bonded rubber mounting on axle beam.
Mark the installed position of the bonded rubber mounting before removing it so the new bonded rubber mounting can be installed in the same
position:

Pry aluminum washer off bonded rubber mounting with a screwdriver.

Mark position of semicircular cut-out (arrow) on axle beam with a felt-tipped marker.

Pulling out bonded rubber mounting
-

Install tools as shown in illustration.

-

Tighten spindle and pull out bonded rubber mounting.

Pulling in bonded rubber mounting 
Front and rear bonded rubber mountings are different.
