Disconnect harness connector from transmission Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) -G22- (arrow).

When removing valve body, only remove bolts marked with arrows.
The bolt identified by arrow -A- is shorter than the other bolts.

Note:  The function of the valve body can be adversely affected if bolts other that those marked with an arrow are loosened.

Detach valve body from transmission and guide harness connectors of wiring harness out.

Do not lay valve body down on its back as this could damage sensor for transmission RPM -G182- (located on back of valve body).

Installing

Lubricate new O-rings for harness connector on wiring harness with ATF.

Install harness connector in transmission housing with flat part (arrow -A-) facing toward oil pan.

Align dowel pin on valve body (arrow-B) with hole in transmission housing (arrow-C-).

Place valve body in position so that pin of detent plate -1- engages in slot on selector slide -2-.
