Differential Case: Service and Repair
Seals For Drive Flanges, Replacing (Rear Final Drive Installed)

Note: All illustrations show the left-hand side of the rear final drive. Removing and installing the drive flange and seal on the right-hand side is
identical.

2062 Driver

VAG1331 Torque wrench
^
VAG1332 Torque wrench
^
VAG1306 Drip tray
Removing

Remove cover plate on rear final drive (arrows).

Place drip tray underneath.

Disconnect drive axle.

Remove drive flange securing bolt, to do this screw two bolts into flange and counter-hold drive flange using lever.

Pry seal out using lever.

Installation is the reverse of removal, when installing note the following:
