Distance pulse number (K number), reading
The distance impulse number is a constant value used by the instrument cluster to calculate speed and distance travelled.
NOTE:
-
The distance impulse number is preset from the manufacturer.

On instrument clusters with km/h display, distance impulse number = 4782.
-
On instrument clusters with mp/h display, distance impulse number = 6733.

Distance impulse number can be read with VAG 7551/7552 or VAS 5057 (description below is for VAG 7557).

Select 1 "Rapid Data Transfer", switch on ignition, input address word 17 "Instrument cluster" .

Press -Q- button to confirm input.
Various data appears in the display. The manufacturer's code is also displayed.

Press -> button, wait until next display appears and press -> button again.
