19. 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) 
20. Mounting bracket
21. Suction line with hose
22. 8 Nm (70 inch lbs.) 

Removing:
-

Removing upper engine cover - Fig. 1.

-

Removing ribbed belt guard - Fig. 2.

-

Relieving tension on ribbed belt - Fig. 3.

-

Remove belt pulley; counterhold with VAG 1590 if necessary

-

Pull ignition wire out of ignition coils -10-.

-

Clamp off suction hose with 3094 or equivalent.

-

Disconnect suction and pressure lines.

-

Unbolt bracket, item-9-, and remove complete with power steering pump.

-

Remove pump to bracket bolts and remove pump.

Installing: Install in reverse order.

Note:  Ignition wire application must equate to numbers marked - Fig. 4

Push tool downward to relieve tension on ribbed belt.

-

Align hole -A- with hole -B-.

-

Insert pin 3204 to secure.

Remove ribbed belt from belt pulley.
