Connecting link to stabilizer bar  50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
Control arm to wheel bearing housing  70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.) +90°
Shock absorber to body  45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)

Tightening torques:

Shock absorber to control arm  70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.) + 90°
Always use new bolts

Brake caliper to bracket  30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Always use new bolts 

Disassembling and Assembling

Suspension strut, disassembling and assembling 

Special tools required 
VAG 1752/1
VAG 1752/7    
3017A

Disassembling 

-

Insert VAG 1752/1 into coil spring.

-

Check that coil spring is seated correctly in adapter VAG 1752/7 (arrow).

-

Compress coil spring with VAG 1 752H until upper shock absorber mounting is free.

-

Remove nut from piston rod using 3017A.

-

Remove coil spring and components from shock absorber.

Assembling 
Install in reverse order

CAUTION:  The upper and lower ends of the coil spring must rest against the spring seat stop (arrow)
