Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Selector lever cable, removing and installing 

Special tools and equipment 

80-200 Pry lever

Removing 
-

Shift selector lever into "P" position.

-

Raise vehicle.

-

Separate front exhaust pipes at double clamps -A- and -B- and tie up to side.

-

Disconnect drive shaft from transmission and tie up or support.

-

Remove left-hand protective plate on transmission.

-

Remove cover from mounting bracket (arrows).

Disconnect selector lever cable from mounting bracket as follows:

-

Press together ends of securing clip -B- and remove.

-

Pull down locking plate -A- (for securing selector lever cable to mounting bracket) and remove.

-

Pull selector lever cable off selector lever.
