Press joint on up to stop.

Install circlip.

Note:  The chamfer on the inner diameter of the ball hub (splines) must face the contact shoulder on the drive axle.

Removal and Installation

Drive axle, removing and installing 

Removing

Remove bolt for drive axle.

-

Remove heat shield for drive axle (arrows).

-

Unbolt drive axle from drive flange.

-

Drive axle out of hub with a plastic-headed hammer if necessary.

-

Remove drive axle.

Installing 

Install in reverse order

Tightening torques:
Drive axle to hub  115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.) + 180° 
-

Always use new bolt!

Drive axle to drive flange   40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) 
Heat shield bolts   25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
