Air Bag: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

Drivers Side Air Bag

Removal

1 - Steering wheel
2 - Airbag unit connector
3 - Airbag unit
4 - Torque to: 50 Nm (37 ft lb) 
5 - Socket head bolt

Torque to: 6.5 Nm (57 in. lb)

Always replace

-

Disconnect battery Ground strap.

-

Turn steering wheel -1- into center position (wheels in straight-ahead position).

-

Remove socket head bolts -5-. Take airbag unit -3- off the steering wheel and disconnect red connector -2- from the airbag unit.

Installation: 

-

Switch on ignition.

-

Connect battery Ground strap.

CAUTION:  Ensure that no person remains inside the vehicle.
