Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair
Coding Control Module

Coding Airbag Control Module:

Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool. See: Testing and Inspection (On Board Diagnostics) 

-

Switch ignition on.

-

Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75 lights up continuously.

-

Press key -1- for operating mode.

Press keys -1- and -5- to select vehicle system to be tested - "Airbag"

Press -Q- key to confirm input.

  V.A.G. Display

Press -> key.

  V.A.G. Display

Press keys -0- and -7- to input address word for "coding Airbag Control Module"

  V.A.G. Display

Press -Q- key to confirm input.

  V.A.G. Display

Input code number (vehicle specific, e.g. 00066)

-

Press -Q- key to confirm input.

  V.A.G. Display

-

The display shows the Airbag Control Module identification number with a letter index (e.g. "B", the code number and the shop code)

-

If the display specified appears and the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp K75 goes out, the coding is complete.
