NOTE:
-
The glow plugs may be activated when the driver's door is opened and closed on diesel-engine vehicles featuring a preheating system operated by
door contacts.
-
The battery discharges a substantial amount of current when the glow plugs are operating. To prevent inadvertent activation of the preheating
system and the damage to test equipment that could result you should remove the glow plug fuse for the duration of the troubleshooting.
-
Set the tester to as highest current range before connecting it.
Does Not Charge While Driving
Checking Resistance for Pre-Exciter Circuit
NOTE:
-
When problem is "Battery does not charge" even though the warning lamp comes on when ignition is switched on and goes out when ignition is
switched off, check resistance of the pre-exciter circuit.
