Perform measurement with guide frame removed.

Place camshaft to be checked in guide frame.

Secure Dial Gauge (VAS 6079) to cylinder head with Universal Dial Gauge Holder (VW 387).
-
Press camshaft against dial gauge by hand.
-
Set dial gauge to "0".

Press camshaft off dial gauge and read the value:
‹› Axial clearance: 0.05 to 0.17 mm.
